It was another wonderful experience that I had encountered.
I stay in Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad. This state has always been the worst affected area in times of cyclone or torrential rains.
A similar rain took over many of the coastal andhra villages and people were deserted and disolated again.
We generally collect fund and send it through 3 rd party to the affected area for relief.
But this time we thought of a plan to help them in person.
Initially a team was sent to find the most affected area and provide help to them.
The team sent us feadback that two villages near the godawari river belt were affected badly. Soon we called for a discussion and we had organized everything to go there.
The wacky idea soon transformed into a great herculian task , which bouldered through the entire organization.
We worked night and day collecting stuff and soon we were embarking on our journey to the affected area.
We started our journey to bhadrachalam by bus. Then we reached koigudu from there.
From koigudu we could not go further as there was "water -water everywhere".
So we took a boat and loaded all the stuff into it and soon set sail to the village.
Soon all people ran towards us and gathered surrounding us.
we helped the people with food, clothes and medicine.
I was in the medicare team. I could experience the pain and suffering they had undergone a little closely.
It was very satisfying to give medicine and food in person and returning with a heart filled with happiness.
The meal after the hard day's work was uncomparable. It was like divine nectar to all of us.
Then again we set sail to another village and performed the same.
Here we went to a government school and distributed food and biscuits to them.
They all waved at us cheerfully and happily.
We carried back sweet memories of their happy faces and satisfaction, which said,
"Yea God is there, he helps us, we are not left alone in this lonely world"
I have attached two sets of photos which portayed the damage and our social service to humanity.
Hope to embark on similar situations soon!.
